The
TalentWorks Trust is a charitable organization dedicated to developing
and promoting talented performers who due to their
situation find
it difficult to grow their talent and promote themselves in the main
stream performance industry.
This is in a large part due to significant changes in the industry,
for example currently in the main stream music scene record companies
are
no longer prepared to fund the development of new talent as
they have done in the past but now demand an almost fully developed
and packaged proposition before they will consider investing
in a performer. At the same time potential new performers have
had
their expectations
of success distorted by the current fame culture epitomized
by
TV programmes such as Pop Idols and Xfactor and other "Reality" shows.
This has resulted in thousands of talented performers left
with little or no opportunity for developing or exploiting
their talent.
They
are
either unable to find the appropriate training, mentoring or
performance platform, or they are discouraged by their perception
of what is
required
by the music industry to succeed.
The TalentWorks Trust has been formed to help fill this void of
leadership and training at the entry level of the performance industry.
Its mission
is to identify talented but disengaged performers and provide them
with access to resources, advice, support and training to help
them
make the right choices for their future careers and to become established
as performing artists. To achieve this mission TalentWorks engages
in
activities in several key areas:-
If you are a performer or know of a performer
